We've spent a lot of time learning about our state's government. We were so excited to get to visit Olympia and see the branches of government and explore our capital for our first field trip. Please reflect on the blog about your favorite part of the day and one thing you saw that you had learned about in class.

I learned that the chandelier in the rotunda dome is the biggest of its kind and can fit an entire VW bug inside! My favorite part of the day was when we were doing the mock court in the Supreme Court Room. That was our trip to Olympia!
Room 507
I learned that the chandelier in the "grand" rotunda dome is NEVER lowered, not even to change the lightbulbs! The ligh-bulb changing people had to build a huge staircase to change the bulbs every TEN years.
I saw the "gold" (its actually polished bronze) state seal with Washington's nose flattened!
I LOVED the field trip.... Does anyone else love it too?

I learned that there are twice as many reprasentatives an there are senets! My favorite part of the day was either seeing the routunda with the big Tiffiny chandelier that can fit a VW bug inside or going to court. I got to be involved in the case of Ken Gardner.

I'm glad you like our blog! I think this is going to be a good way to have fun and share ideas as a class.
Remember to read the directions on the post carefully and answer all parts of the question. Also, we want to practice proper writing so check your spelling and write in complete sentences please!
I liked eveything about Olympia especialy the big chandlier in the Rotunda Dome because it was so big. A small smart car could fit inside it. It weighs 10,000 pounds and has 200 light bulbs. I also liked the mock court where we got to argue arguements. I hope you liked Olympia as much as I did!
I learned that senators and representatives vote in different ways, roll call versus electronic. I also learned that the children in our class are great representatives of Sunny Hills Elementary. Way to go students!
Mrs. Wolfe
I agree with Mrs. Wolfe that we have a fabulous fourth grade class and I think that I'm so lucky to have such a good job share partner!
I learned that the people on the chandelier were 4 feet tall. My favorite part of the fieldtrip is being the court and how we got to act in it!!!!!!!
-Mitchell
I did not get to go to the Capitol because I was sick. I was disappointed but hope I can go another time.
Joey
My favorite part about Olympia was the governor's conference room.
It was so big, twelve people could sit around it. The governor gets to sit in the tallest chair. All around the room are video cameras mounted on the ceiling, walls or a television person could hold one up. I hope you liked this place as much as I did.
Alex
I agree with Abby, the buses were AWSOME! I got to play hang man with Mrs.Wolfe. Taylor and I had to give her a hint on the phrase:every color every day in health.
