Excel in Real-Life
We've been using Excel with graphing and formula tools in the computer lab. Please find an adult (it could be a parent, babysitter, neighbor, or someone else) that uses Excel for either their work or at home and report back to the class the way that this person uses this software. It will be fun to see the way that people use this program outside of school! Please use your best writing skills and complete sentences or your comments will not be accepted. Happy interviewing

I talked to my husband and he uses Excel for almost all of his projects at work. His worksheets are enormous and they give me a headache. I also use excel for designing student scaffolds, making your class list, report cards, and my own budget. In my Program Assistant job I use Excel for keeping track of each teacher's budget, and artist budgets.

My mom said she doesn`t use it very much, my dad won`t be home until 9:00, and it`s due tomorrow, so I decided to post about what I`ve seen Excel used in. The one I remember most was in an article on the internet that had Waren Woon`s stats.

My mom uses excel in formulas, charts, and graphs. My dad uses excel for making a plan for new house model. I use it for class projects like making our spelling resolts on each week.Also, I bet alot of grown ups use it for thier checking acounts or for keeping track of what kind of money they spend every day.

My dad uses Excel for lots of stuff. Some of them include: Spread sheets for his property management clients and budgeting. My mom never uses Excel. My sisters and I were introduced to it in school, so my dad is the only one in my family who uses Excel.

My dad is a accountant, so he uses excel every day. He does Excel for budgets, financial reports, financial statements, lists, and tracking his running times. ( he runs a lot too.)
My dad uses exel a lot to keep track of projects. He reports status, rolls and responsibilities, action items, risks (risk mitigation), issues, schedule, and lots of other things.

I did'nt know vevy many people who use excel. But my mom and my frind said thay ues it for graphing and charting. My frind said also that her class uesed it for some kind of banking thing. I wonder what other things you can do on excal ???

my mom uses excel for taxes and graphing and my dad uses for his company taxes but i don't uses it a single bit!!!!

I interviewed my mother and my father. My mom said that she uses Excel for her report cards. My dad said that he uses it for finances, tracking income and expenses. He also uses it for spreadsheets at work that track patients and the equipment that is used to support them.

I use Excel in my jewelry business keeping track of the cost of a piece, price and inventory. Even as an artist I find it very handy to be able to use Excel as a tool.
I also use it to keep track of names, addresses and phone numbers for the volunteers I work with teaching art at school.

I asked my mom and dad how they use Excel and my mom said that we use it to manage our family budget. My dad uses Excel to track projects, report and analyze massive amounts of data, summarize information to be used in presentations, and track and manage to dos. Excel is my dad's favorite tool because he is in finance.

My mom uses exel to multiply, subtract, add, and divide numbers. My dad does not use exel, but I will it on the practice problems on the bottom of the math homework, after I calculate them in my head.

My mom uses Excel all the time. One way my mom uses Excel is as a timesheet. A timesheet is for keeping track of the hours she worked. Excel also helps the book keeper with billing. A book keeper is a person that deals with the money. Excel sorts out long distance calls, gas mileage, and the amount of time on a project.

My Mom uses Microsoft Excel for Bills, Tax info, her shipping orders, and commission's. My dad uses Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, in voicing, and budgeting.
My mom uses Excel for a roster for Girl Scouts. She list everyone's names, phone, address, school, age and grade. Then she can sort that to look at just girls in 4th grade at Sunny Hills, or all adult leaders at Sunny Hills, or whatever she wants. Plus she uses the "find" button to find names quickly.
