I liked "Fish or fly" most, because Ole wants to see a model of the sputnik, and he can't go because his father needs help fishing. In the end, while helping his father, he gets to see the REAL sputnik instead of just the model, which I think is very cool.
I like the last decade (the 1980's) the best because I think it was the longest and had the most detail. I also liked it because it was the only chapter that mentionted a famous natural disaster. I also like that Ed named his dog Amigo which i think is a very good name for a dog, (though if I had a dog I would name it Zeus). Well I guess that's it for now. Oh and Mrs. Pietraszewski if you are reading this could you set up a new blog extra credit project? There haven't been very many so far.
I liked Eduardo's story. It was really like, the whats going to happen next chapter. I mean, you hear about how on Eduardo's birth day "the moutain" blew. Then you don't know that a scientest is going to come on THAT day and that THAT scientest just HAPPENS to have a vace made from the ashes of the moutain and then BOOM! They have a party for Eduardo. Just like that! -Katherine P.S. Hey Talor, in your owl in the shower responce you said that there could be 100 foot fence. But I found a problem in that. The problem is what if a chipmunk naws through the fence? It would be funny to see lots of animals stacked on top of each other! Also, How would you make a 100 foot tall fence?
I like Not Much, But Enough because it is the story where you can really get an idea on what it was like to live in that time. It also seems like it is the most emotional story because people are getting moved away from thier homes. The kids are also seperated from thier friends.
My favorite chapter was the first one. I think it might have been titled tall wheat? Am I right? I liked it the most because it was more detailed on the problem. For the most part I liked the book . How about everyone else? Also same thing with Jackson can we do more of blogs? Abby
I liked Jumprope Friends because it was a story about friendship and relationships between girls. I also like to jumprope so that story also relates to me a little too! One thing I also liked about it was that Amone met a new friend named Lisa and supprisingly it was the same girl that hit her with the ball. Some questions I have are, What did they do for free time in the stage period of 1960's? I wonder if they had a tough time becouse of where they lived at that time. Hannah
I like some of your explanations here about your favorite stories. There are also some interesting questions. For extra credit, you can always try to respond to other student's thoughts and questions. There are a few comments that I couldn't post because they didn't have a name though...hint, hint!
I liked the chapter "A Gift From The Mountain." My favorite part is when the scientist gave Eduardo a special glazed vase.
Camille
Dear Katherine, Couldn't the loggers make a fence out of anything but wood like iron or steal, and you are right about it being funny to see lots of animals stacked on top of each other but if it got too high, would the animals fall?
my favorite decade in the book was the 1890's chapter because of all the excitment and felling. I liked it most when the chopper came and the boy had to run for cover and also because I could feel the expresion on his face when he forgot patch. That is why I liked the chapter so much
-Tanner P.S. taylor, camile, and Katherine why do we have to make a huge wall rather then just make a big green house?
I think the fisherman chapter was the best.I liked how the boy was sad because he didn't get to see the plane. Then, the boy that was on the boat with him, told him that he could possibly see the plane in the sky. He looked up and saw it. So, I basicly liked how at first he was unhappy and then he got happier.
I liked fish or fly because Ole wan'ted to go to the logger camp. But his mom sad it was not safe because her husbend died at that camp. When Ole finally geta to go with his uncle he saves him from a lose limb that fell and hit his head. Ole saved his uncle by going a doctor to help. Thats the chapter i like.
Hey everyone its Nic i think my favorite chapter was the third to last one Around the worlds fair because it had all the different cultures of people from around the world.
I agree with Jackson and Abby can we do more blogging.
I liked A Gift From The Mountain because Eduardo's birth-day party was cancled because of Mt. St. Helen. Then the day before his sister birth-day, a scientist came a gave Eduardo a vase that was made by the volcano eruption. When he walked home from the apple orchard most of his friends and family said, "Surprise! Happy late birth-day."
Mrs. Pietras zew ski I can't remember all of the chapters, and I would of grabed a book if I knew what the assinment was about. Anyway my favorite chapter that I know of is "Jump-Rope Friends" because I like jump-rope and it's nice to meet another friend and learn a new thing. Like jump-rope.
Hello to the world (or just to Mrs. P. class, works) My favorite chapter is the last chapter, A Gift from the Moutain. I liked this chapter most because next to the Titanic, I love natural disasters. Plus, to me, it had the best story.
I like Katy's story because Katy finds a new friend and she gets to go on a mystery. Plus Katy likes mysteries, and I like how the girl katy becomes friends with gets to have surgery for the disease she has it's called Polio. the person who pays for the surgery is the presidant and he gives her the surgery because he had the same disease and i saw a play with the main characters sister has polio.
Camille I think it really depends on which kind animal(s) are stacked. If it went chipmunk, moose, squirrel, moose, bird, moose, and so on(small, big, small, big)there is a %99.999(and so on) chance that the little ones will be totaly squished and then the mooses will probubly fall. -Katherine P.S Is it mice(the I is EE sound) or mooses?
